The Kryla
Class Type: Aerial/Ala
Height: 5’7’’-6’5’’ for females, 5’4’’-6’ for males
Lifespan: 70 years if kept healthy
Anatomy: The Kryla are one of the few human-like Alas capable of flight, clearly influenced by magic into bird-like features. While they have four wings, only the larger of the pairs are used to power them in the air. The second set of wings acts more as a bird’s steering tail, as well as being used for show. Their actual tails are more often used as balance while on the ground, though can be used as a second rudder and to help slow themselves while in the air.
Their feet have powerful, vice-like grips and curved talons that would mark them as an apex predator in non-sapient species, though they can make standing on flat ground for long periods of time difficult.
Kryla are entirely coated with feathers, ranging from long flight feathers, to short, hair-like down on their hands. They have a large range in coloration, with brighter songbird markings in the southern regions, and duller, more greyed coats in the north. The smaller set of wings is always more brightly colored as compared to the rest of the specimen, often in bright blues, reds, or oranges.
Abilities: Kryla have few magical advantages over other races. The only thing they truely use their magic for is flight, lightening their bodies while in the air to make it possible, otherwise they would simply be too heavy. Their sharp talons and wing spikes, combined with their agility, however, makes them practical for light and quick combat.
